New Handpainted Seashell Tables - Perfect for a Cottage

I have just finished this handpainted table with seashells, actually there are 2 tables each with different seashells on the top. These are cute tables and would complement your beach cottage decor. I have painted sand and pebbles for a textured look under the shells. There are two identical tables except for the painted top where I have different shells. The other table has a decorative starfish hand painted on the top surface. The pair of tables is $400. and can be shipped.
Thanks, PJ

Next Step In Painting A Seascape

When you compare the previous post of Painting A Seascape with this one you will notice the addition of more details in the painting. I have added the chairs, the beach cottage and more textures like the rocks and sand. I step back often and look at the painting from a distance to compare values and to see where I can improve the painting. This particular beach in Long Island Sound has sand that has a red/pink color in areas along the shore and I have included that in this painting. Look for similar details in your art work to create more interest.

Painting A Seascape - Follow Along With Each Step

In the next step of painting a seascape using line and value sketches, I have started the actual painting as you can see above. I have used my value sketch from the previous post to help me but this time it is in color. I will try and match the values from the sketch as I paint. Sometimes it helps to squint your eyes when looking at values. It removes some of the details and helps you look at just the value.

My painting so far has the background and foreground but many of the details are not painted in yet. When I look at this painting so far I can see the darkest darks are not dark enough, the rocks in the distance and the foreground. So I know from my value sketch that I need to darken these areas. Next I will paint in the house and chairs and continue adding detail.

Hand Painted Table with White Lily

This is my latest hand painted table, it is a more modern design than the beach scenes. I have painted many lily flowers in all colors. I like this white lily with the blue shadows wrapping over the table edge. This is a natural birch wood table with an original acrylic painting of a lily flower. Protective glossy finish over the original painting for durability. Table top is 15" diameter with a height of 18". The painting flows over onto the edge of the table top for a 3 dimensional effect, all hand painted! Can be shipped, email or call for pricing: pj@pjcookartist.com or 860-539-4457.

My next project will be two acrylic paintings, one of a sunflower and the other a pineapple. I am still working on the seascape oil painting and should have my next step done soon. So check back for my post on painting the ocean wave.
Thanks, PJ

Decorative Bar Stool - hand painted blue beach scene

I have finished the acrylic painting on this bar stool. The legs have the same white wash wood grain effect as the beach path scene that I painted first. That bar stool can be seen in the previous post. I have the thick protective finish on the top so it is very durable.

Price: $349.
plus shipping
